Spiders On Purple

 

It's day 5 and I have some simple nail art.  I have had this purple for a long time and never used it.  It dries matte if you don't use a top coat to shine it back up.  The color is great for Halloween.  I used a black striper and a silver striper to do the details.......

 

 

F4 Polish Boo To You

Here is another F4 goodie for Halloween.  It is called Boo to You and I have layered over two coats of OPI's Skull and Glossbones.

 

This was one coat only of Boo To You.  Love F4!!!!  Perfect application. 

 

Halloween Cat

So, here is day three of Halloween month.  I saw a photo of this design and thought it was really cute.  This is Illamasqua Optimist from their rubber finish collection and I sponged on Zoya Myrta for some texture and shimmer.  Then I free handed the rest with a mixture of polish and acrylics.  I thought it came out cute.

 

 

You know it is hard to come up with unique designs that are not the same old Halloween ideas that have been done so many times before.  I noticed, however, that the nurses at work are starting to wear their Halloween scrub tops and a lot of them are really cool patterns that are unique and can be fairly easily replicated.  Now I am taking cell phone pictures of their tops at work.  Also, my co-worker's daughters Tiffany and Emily have been researching some designs for me so I will show you a few over the next few weeks.

F4 Polish Nightmare Forest

Love both of these polish brands.  F4 has amazing stuff.  I have never been unhappy with a purchase.  They ship fast, respond to questions quickly and seem like genuinely nice girls.  This is Nightmare Forest from their Halloween Collection.  You can buy it at their Etsy store.  I layered over ManGlaze's Mink Mitten.  ManGlaze is another great brand with wacky and awesome customer service.  Follow them on facebook for some laughs.

First lets take a peek at Mink Mitten.......

Mink Mitten is a light purple matte polish with a shimmer.  it is amazingly gorgeous.  And, here it is with one coat of Nightmare Forest over the top...

I am in love with this combo.  I didn't want to take it off but I am on a mission to complete my 31 Halloween manis this month.  Two down, 29 more to go.......

The witch flew over the moon

I love Halloween, always have.  When I supervised a small group of social workers, I used to force them all to dress up against their will.  One year I made all the costumes for the Wizard of Oz and even had our 6 foot tall maintenance man dress up as Dorothy.  I decided to set the mood for October, I would try and post a different Halloween design every day.  Some nights I have more time than others so I will be doing a combination of nail art, stamping and Indie Halloween polishes.  All of my favorite things. 

First up is some nail art.  Believe it or not, the hardest part here was getting the background just the right color.  It is Cult Nails Time Traveler with Essie Lilacism sponged over the top.  The moon is Orly Spark and all the black is done with Konad black either free hand or stamped.  I don't have my stamping stuff nearby so I can't give you plate numbers but ask if you feel you must know.

I was really happy with the outcome but it did take quite a chunk of time so you will not be seeing something this extravagant every day.  Stay tuned though.......

Fall Into Autumn Challenge-Football

I am not really that into football.  I can follow the game.  I know who the teams are.  I enjoy a good Superbowl and don't mind going to see one live but it isn't really my thing.  I decided to do Redskins colors for this instead of doing a traditional football or field mani.  I had seen a you tube video by creativenailart using black and white to create a unique pattern.  I recreated it using burgundy and yellow.  It's Sally Hansen Unbreakable Heart and Color Club Almost Famous.

The second pic was over my old and ratty Redskins sweatshirt.  My only regret was not using a smaller more delicate brush because it took away from the classiness of it, but......it is football!!!
