Let It Snow Challenge-Snowman

I already did a snowman earlier in the season and this was a struggle because I am kind of sick of winter.  I decided this time that I would try and recreate a snow globe that has been shaken up.  I used Cult Nails Princess, added in my snowman and did a reverse glitter gradient over the top.  It is cute.  Cute being the appropriate term for my nubby nails that I just cut this weekend.  I wanted to catch back up with the challenge so I am posting this today but my next few posts will show my longer nails since I had the pics in the vault.

If you have not already entered, you only have three more hours to enter my Indie Giveaway.

Amy's Nail Boutique Cop A Teal

I am in love with this.  I have to say that I have never been disappointed by any of Amy's Polishes.  They are all really unique and beautiful.  This is definitely in my top ten favorites.  This is called Cop-A-Teal.  It is a combination of teal and copper colored glitters in a clear base.

In case your wondering about the base color, I layered one coat of Cop-A-Teal over two coats of China Glaze For Audrey.  Here is For Audrey on it's own.

You can buy Cop-A-Teal from Amy's Etsy Store along with some other fabulous new releases. Keep your eyes open for some amazingly beautiful, very pigmented holo polishes in unique colors that she will be releasing soon. To check out a sneak preview of these holos, you can check out her facebook page.

Last post, I showed you another Sheswai Polish called Totally. Here I topped it with one coat of a polish made by F4 called Mrs. Duck.  It is from the Magical Mouse Collection that they created and I bought them all.  I love this glitter combo...

You can purchase Mrs Duck and the rest of the Magical Mouse Collection at F4's Etsy Shop.

Let It Snow Challenge-Icicles

I have done this before using different colors but it is such a pretty look, I decided to recreate it again.  This time I used Zoya Blu from their Spring 2013 Collection.  It is a gorgeous cream base and a one coater.  Perfect application.  I did a reverse gradient using CG Ray-diant and added in some light snowflakes using Milani White on The Spot.

Sheswai Totally

Sheswai totally as described on their website, "this sophisticated fuchsia is bold, bright, and ‘totally’ fantastic".  I would have to agree.  Like all the others I have tried.  This applied beautifully and was very close to a one-coater.  This was two coats and no top coat.

You can purchase this and all of the other colors I have shown so far on Sheswai Beauty's Website.  I still have three more to go.  Tomorrow, I will be showing you an F4 Polish that I layered over this.

Let it Snow Challenge-Fireside Glow

I remembered I had this stamp that looked like flames.  It comes in the Cheeky 2012 Summer Set.  I used half the design over a gradient of Orly Spark, Zoya Arizona and Milani Rapid Cherry.  And, a topper of China Glaze Fairy Dust.  Made it look like there were small sparks or floating embers.

Digit-al Dozen Does Art-Forest

I feel really terrible about this because I searched early on through dozens and dozens of pictures and saved this next one because I loved the colors but only saved the picture like a dummy. I never saved the link. Clearly, the photo gives credit to the site where it can be purchased but there are hundreds and hundreds of pictures on the website and I can't find it again so I am not sure if there is an artist to give credit to. Whoever they are, they have my admiration because I would love to have this in my house. It is gorgeous.

Here is the inspiration......

Digit-al Dozen Does Art-Starry Night

I have always appreciated art of any kind.  I remember taking an art class in college and this was one of my favorites.  There was something about the mix of colors that I was really drawn to.  I used Essie Bikini So Teeny for the base color and then just started adding in blues and yellows from there.  This was fun to do.  I actually really enjoyed this week and would like to continue this theme (maybe monthly) because I have had a great time trying to recreate the work of these amazing artists.

Here is  a photo of the real Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh.

Digit-al Dozen Does Art-New York

I love the contrast of bright colors over black.  When I saw this next painting, I was just drawn to the brightness of it.  It is intended to represent the city of New York but my rendition reminds me more of rock formations.  Either way, I was happy with it because I loved the colors.

The original painting is by a Canadian abstract artist named Osnat Tsadok.  You can see her work here.

Digit-al Dozen Does Art-Wooden Panels

This picture that I found, I fell in love with.  I could actually see this in my house right now.  It would fit right in.  I liked the look of the wood and the symmetry of the design.  I also loved using ManGlaze Fuggen Ugly as the base and I liked the matte look so much but in the end, I decided that it needed a top coat to have a cleaner look.

This was the picture that inspired me.......

Digit-al Dozen Does Art-Sunrise

I spent quite a bit of time looking for ideas for this week's art theme.  I like so many works of art but I am not talented enough to translate them onto my nails.  I had to stick with things that were fairly simple.  Each day I will be sharing with you the manicure I completed followed by the work of art that I used for inspiration.  I am starting with this first because I can no longer locate the picture anywhere despite multiple searches.  If anyone recognizes it, let me know.  It is a sunrise through an old curvy set of trees..

Let It Snow Challenge-Winter Solstice

This was a tough one for me.  I finally found an image that appealed to me and used various colors to make a gradient.  I added some dark trees and the changing position of the moon.  Hope you like it......

Candy Lacquer Sweet Metal

I am continuing on with my Sheswai posts. I have been adding on an indie polish after showing you the Sheswai base coat.  Next up is Honeyfox which you can see on it's own here.  I have added one coat on top of Candy Lacquer Sweet Metal.  This is a really unique blend of gold and silver glitter in varying shapes in a clear base.
